Title: Power Plant Mechanical Maintenance

Location: Big Stone Plant, Big Stone City, South Dakota

Responsibilities: Must be physically fit, mentally alert, and able to work indoors or outdoors in all weather, manage work in confined spaces and at height, wear a respirator, and hold a valid driver's license. Must have basic computer skills; be able to read, understand and interpret technical instruction books and prints; be proficient in welding, including GMAW, SMAW, Tig; machine tool techniques; understand precision alignment and vibration analysis; have basic knowledge of metallurgy; have experience troubleshooting and repairing pumps, drives, and other industrial equipment.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and two years of formal technical training in a related technical field, or at least five years of documented work experience.

Title: Energy Efficiency Engineer

Location: Fergus Falls, Minnesota

Responsibilities: Research and develop opportunities within the transmission and distribution system that could improve its overall efficiency. Work with staff on the more stringent aspects of measurement and verification required in the Minnesota Conservation Improvement Plan (CIP) evaluation process. Conduct cost/benefit analyses of demand-side management (DSM) and CIP opportunities. Perform life-cycle financial modeling of baseline and developed technical solutions. Construct detailed technical proposals. Develop measurement and verification plans using the measurement and verification protocols established by the Minnesota Department of Commerce. Represent Otter Tail Power Company before the Department of Commerce and Minnesota Public Utilities Commission relating to engineering aspects associated with CIP and DSM, as well as before other state, federal, and local governmental bodies as requested.

Qualifications: Applicants must have bachelor's degrees in mechanical or electrical engineering with a minimum of five years working in electrical utility transmission and distribution. Strong computer, analytical, communication, customer-satisfaction, team-building, and report-writing skills are required.
