Children's book writing competition

In celebration of our company's 100th anniversary in 2009, Otter Tail Power Company is accepting manuscripts for a children's book-writing competition. The author of the winning manuscript will receive a $1,000 prize, and the manuscript will be considered for publication. The competition opens on May 5, 2008, and entries must be postmarked no later than June 16, 2008, to be considered. The winner will be notified in late June. The manuscript chosen will become property of Otter Tail Power Company. |
Competition guidelines:
- The central character of the book must incorporate Ollie the Otter, our company mascot, and Ollie's humorous, responsible, friendly, and resourceful personality.
- The manuscript should contain 200 to 400 words and should appeal to a kindergarten through Grade 4 reading level.
- Entrants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Otter Tail Power Company employees are excluded.
- Winner must execute all waivers and release agreements required by Otter Tail Power Company.
The winning manuscript will be selected on the basis of these guidelines, creativity, and overall quality of writing.
