Fan-forced heating

Affordable. Versatile. Reliable. Easy to install.

Fan-forced heat unit.

Fan-forced electric heat is not new. It's been around for more than a century, making bathrooms, dens, basements, breezeways, or little-used rooms more comfortable at an instant's notice.

The concept is simple: A fan blows air across an electric heating element and is controlled by a built-in thermostat. Everything is contained in a compact unit. You get 100 percent efficient heating, low-cost installation, and low-maintenance operation.

Today's units are more reliable, quiet, and attractive than ever before. They can be sized precisely and individually controlled, meaning you'll use energy only when you need it. Consider drop-in and recessed designs to fit into register openings, cabinet kick spaces, or between wall studs. A variety of wattages are available.

Applications

  • Install as supplemental heating for entries, bathrooms, or anywhere central heating doesn't adequately reach.
  • Include for renovation or new construction projects.

Benefits

  • Fast heating. Occupants feel immediate heat.
  • Save energy because you heat only when the area is being used.
  • Sizes vary to fit between studs, into floor registers, or into kick spaces.
  • Easy to install.
  • Low maintenance and reliable.

How fan-forced heating works with our electric service rates

Fan-forced heating units operate on Otter Tail Power Company's general service rate. For large commercial applications, they may be installed as part of an off-peak heating program such as dual fuel.
