Loan pools
Wherever local communities in our service area have committed funds to form a local loan pool, we have partnered with them to provide financing assistance for business starts, expansions, or other projects.
Loan pool financing can be combined with other conventional and state financing programs to create a unique package for new and expanding operations. We've specialized in drawing together these resources into project packages with favorable terms. Technology-intensive, dairy, and value-added agricultural projects that use local products as raw materials in their processes are just a few of the projects that have taken advantage of loan pools to provide jobs and growth in our region.
Grants
Otter Tail Power Company sponsors grants that vary according to project requirements and scope. Utility grants, available through our Commercial Development Partnership Program, are designed to get new businesses off the ground by lowering overhead during the first months of business operation. Offered in communities willing to act as program partners, utility credits for electricity, water, sewer, and refuse collection are available to new ventures of all kinds, including retail and service operations.
