Our Jamestown Customer Service Area includes the major towns of Carrington, Cooperstown, Jamestown, Lisbon, New Rockford and Oakes.

Jamestown is in the southeastern quadrant of North Dakota midway between Bismarck, the state's capital, and Fargo, North Dakota's largest city. Jamestown is adjacent to I-94 and is on Highway 281, which runs north to the Canadian border and south to Brownsville, Texas.

Jamestown has air service to Minneapolis with three round trips daily Sunday through Friday and two round-trip flights on Saturday and Sunday, connecting anywhere in the world. The Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad provides Jamestown with freight service.

Oakes is in southeastern North Dakota in Dickey County about 80 miles west of Wahpeton and 58 miles south of Valley City. North Dakota Highways 1 and 11 serve Oakes as do the Dakota, Missouri Valley & Western, and Red River & Western railroads. The Oakes Airport, three miles north of town just off Highway 1, has a 3,500-foot runway. Major employers in Oakes include JLG (manufacturing), Performance Centers, Incorporated (telemarketing), Engine Rebuilders, and two large elevators that handle 100-car unit trains, as well as the Oakes Community Hospital and Good Samaritan Nursing Center. Oakes overlooks the James River. The rural town is in the middle of a sportsman's paradise with abundant populations of pheasants and mule and whitetail deer.

This area has a workforce that takes pride in its work. Low rates of absenteeism, productive work habits, and a high degree of self-reliance contribute to the North Dakota worker's ability to outproduce the national worker. North Dakota has one of the nation's lowest workers' compensation rates.
