Our Wahpeton Customer Service Area is in southeastern North Dakota in the Red River Valley, which is a world leader in diversified agriculture and related agri-business and agricultural research. It also services several other major communities including Hankinson, Casselton, Kindred, Lidgerwood, Mapleton, Wyndmere, North Dakota, and Wheaton, Minnesota.
Wahpeton has access to major markets though the interstate highway system. I-29 is 10 miles west, and I-94 is 23 miles east of Wahpeton. ND 13, ND 127, and MN 210 also serve the area.
Railroad service includes the main lines of the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe and the Red River Valley and Western, and the Canadian Pacific. Fargo's Hector International Airport is just 50 minutes away from Wahpeton.
Wahpeton is the city with the largest manufacturing per capita employment in the Upper Midwest. Situated at the head of the Red River of the North, it is the home of North Dakota State College of Science.
