Restoring your electrical service
For customers disconnected due to identified hazards
In conjunction with local and state codes pertaining to wiring inspections and Otter Tail Power Company's request for electric service practices, we will restore service for a customer whose electrical service was disconnected because of hazards at their facilities under the following conditions:
- Otter Tail Power Company must be provided an affidavit or certificate indicating that an electrical inspection has been completed and that the conditions are safe for the service to be energized. Otter Tail Power Company does not assume responsibility for the design, operation, or condition of the installation.
- In the case of a temporary service request an affidavit and appropriate temporary service connection will be allowed.
Meter socket: Inspection of the wiring in the meter socket is the responsibility of Otter Tail Power Company and installation shall not be energized until the connections have been checked and approved by an authorized employee. Otter Tail Power Company will refuse to install a meter or complete the service requirements if violations of electrical codes or hazardous conditions are found.
