Ready Check
Simplify your bill paying process
Instead of writing out a check and paying postage each month, sign up for Ready Check to have your monthly electric payments automatically withdrawn from your bank account. You may choose a payment date that best fits your budget (within 25 days of the billing date).
Within two months of signing up, you'll receive a notice on your electric service statement saying, "Copy. Do not pay. This amount will be paid by your bank." Until you see this message that indicates Ready Check is in effect, make your payments as usual. After that, you will continue to receive your monthly electric bill, but your bank automatically will pay it from your checking account.
Ready Check is a free service. You may cancel any time by calling or writing to us. If your account ever has insufficient funds to pay, we'll assess a return check charge on your next bill. If you have three months of insufficient funds within a 12-month period, we will remove you from Ready Check.
To sign up for Ready Check, print and complete the enrollment form and return it with a voided check to your local Otter Tail Power Company office. Because authorization requires your signature, you can't complete your enrollment online.
For even greater convenience and predictability, combine Ready Check with Even Monthly Payment to average your monthly payments over 12 months.
