Electric Boilers
Electric boilers use electric heating elements to heat liquid for in-floor hydronic, hot-water baseboard, and radiator heating systems. They provide 100% efficient electric heat. And they’re compact so they fit any size home or business. As with other boiler systems, piping or tubing lines are required to circulate heat-carrying fluid.
Pick the application that's right for you
- Install with all types of in-floor hydronic heating systems.
- Install with hydronic baseboard heat and radiators.
- Use for renovation or new construction projects.
Save with off-peak rates
You can operate an electric boiler on our General Service Rate or install it as part of a qualified off-peak rate program, including Dual Fuel, Deferred Load, Fixed Time of Delivery, or RDC, that offers a discounted price per kilowatt-hour. If an electric boiler is installed on an off-peak rate, part of the installation may require additional wiring, a meter socket, and a service panel.
Rebates are available
Boilers installed as part of an in-floor hydronic thermal-storage system on our Fixed Time of Delivery or Deferred Load Rate may qualify for a thermal-storage rebate of $40 per kilowatt (kW).
Those installed where the system isn't capable of storing heat, such as a hot-water baseboard or radiator heating system, may be eligible for a $500 per unit rebate when a 9 kW to 25 kW unit is installed or a $20 per kW rebate when a unit larger than 25 kW is installed on our Dual Fuel or RDC Rate.
A minimum 9 kW unit is required to qualify for a rebate. Rebates totaling more than $10,000 require prior approval.
