Meet your hot water needs, waste almost no energy, and get generous rebates when you install a high-efficiency electric water heater.

Water heater rebate program

Rebates are available for electric water-heating installations with proof of a minimum of 90% efficiency (uniform energy factor [UEF] of .90 or higher) when you place your water heater on one of our off-peak programs.*

Grid-enabled, standard, and light-duty commercial electric water heater rebates

  • Get a $300 rebate when a qualifying 80-gallon or larger water heater is installed on a new off-peak service.
  • Get a $150 rebate when a qualifying 80-gallon or larger water heater is installed as a replacement on an existing controlled service.
  • Get a $150 rebate when a qualifying water heater between 50–79 gallons is installed on a new off-peak service.
  • Get a $75 rebate when a qualifying water heater between 50–79 gallons is installed as a replacement on an existing controlled service.

Heavy-duty commercial electric water heater rebates
Get a rebate of $40 per kilowatt when you install 12 kilowatts or more of efficient heavy-duty commercial electric water heating with a minimum of 120 gallons of storage capacity. Maximum rebate is $5,000.

*Eligible off-peak service includes Deferred Load, Dual Fuel, Residential Demand Control, or Controlled Water Heating Rates including the monthly $8 credit option. New off-peak service refers to water heating loads specifically. A rate may have been active at the location and used for space heating applications before a water heater was added for control and still qualify as new off-peak service for rebates.
