Conserve our planet’s resources with wind and solar
We take our environmental commitment seriously—which is why our renewable, emission-free resources supply about 20% of the energy we use to serve customers. And we’ll be increasing that percentage over the next 6 years.
Through our TailWinds program, you can designate additional wind resources toward powering your home. Through our Publicly Owned Property Solar program, you can receive cash incentives for installing a solar photovoltaic system at a publicly owned facility.
How TailWinds works
- Wind-generated energy is available for purchase in 100-kilowatt-hour blocks. You choose how much you want to buy. Use wind energy to power your entire home, or just a few appliances.
- You can enroll at any time. Once you enroll, you'll start seeing a small additional charge—$1.30 per 100-kilowatt-hour block—on your monthly bill. This helps cover the cost of adding wind-generated electricity to our resource mix.
How Publicly Owned Property Solar works
- You can receive a cash incentive for installing a solar photovoltaic (PV) system at a publicly owned facility, such as a school, college, or government building.
- We offer incentives of $1,250/kilowatt (kW) of installed solar PV nameplate capacity, up to 50% of project costs, for systems not exceeding 20 kW of nameplate capacity.
