Otter Tail Power Company Names Steve Schoeneck Vice President, Customer Service

Today Otter Tail Power Company President Tim Rogelstad announced Steve Schoeneck as Vice President, Customer Service, effective April 9. In this role Schoeneck will be accountable for field operations, customer relations, economic development, sales and implementation, and operational support. Schoeneck will succeed Mark Helland who, prior to his retirement, led the company’s customer service team for nearly two decades.

“Steve has broad and varied experience both within and prior to joining our company,” said Rogelstad. “He understands our vision, our employees, and our customers, and will continue to bring value and build relationships in this new role.”

Schoeneck earned his bachelor of science degree in management and accounting at Minnesota State University-Moorhead. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional, and a Certified Treasury Professional. He began his career with Otter Tail Power Company in 2003 as an accounting transactions supervisor and grew with the company as the sourcing manager and then as the sales, operations support, and economic development manager. Before joining Otter Tail Power Company, Schoeneck was an Entrepreneur Developer with the Northwest Minnesota Foundation. He also worked as the Accounting Manager and Director of Business Operations for Otter Tail Energy Services.

Outside of work Schoeneck enjoys hunting, running, trail biking, and snow shoeing. He’s also on the Greater Fergus Falls Corporation Board of Directors, is a Fergus Falls Port Authority member at large, and is active in his church. A native of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Schoeneck and his wife Shelley live in Fergus Falls. They have three grown children.
