Valley Queen Cheese Receives Rebate From Otter Tail Power Company

Completes energy-efficiency upgrades

With the help of rebates from Otter Tail Power Company, Valley Queen Cheese recently completed several energy-efficient upgrades.

Improvements consisted of replacing approximately 350 interior lights with light-emitting diode (LED) technology and adding adjustable-speed drives.  

Otter Tail Power Company provided a rebate of $106,230 for these energy-efficient upgrades. Projected savings from the lighting upgrade alone are almost 820,000 kilowatt-hours annually—the same usage as approximately 75 residential homes. “Reinvesting in facilities to lower operating costs is a great way for businesses to lower energy use and reduce expenses,” said Otter Tail Power Company Energy Management Representative Brad Nelson. “By completing these energy-efficient upgrades, Valley Queen Cheese will see a savings of approximately $57,400 a year on energy costs.”
