Mahnomen Health Center Receives Rebate From Otter Tail Power Company
Completes Upgrade To Energy-saving Led Lighting
With the help of rebates from Otter Tail Power Company, Mahnomen Health Center recently completed a two-year energy-efficiency project.
In 2016 Mahnomen Health Center started a recommissioning study through Otter Tail Power Company’s Minnesota Conservation Improvement Program. The study helps ensure building systems are running at peak performance and provides recommended energy-efficiency measures. Based on study results Mahnomen Health Center implemented many energy-saving measures related to controls and scheduling of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
The study also identified additional efficiency measures that fell outside the recommissioning scope. “Lighting was one such measure,” said Otter Tail Power Company Energy Management Representative Roger Garton. “Mahnomen Health Center recently finished a complete retrofit of all interior fixtures to LED—more than 2,230 new LED lamps. With our company’s $23,500 rebate, we project a one-year simple payback on this lighting project.”
The LED upgrade has benefitted Mahnomen Health Center in other ways too. “Our patients and residents appreciate the new LED light quality,” said Mahnomen Health Center CEO Dale Kruger. “Energy efficiency is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to help reduce waste. We appreciate Otter Tail Power Company’s help in completing our lighting project.”
