Otter Tail Power Company To Cohost Electric Vehicle Ride & Drive On September 13

Event Will Highlight The Performance And Environmental Benefits Of Electric Vehicles

Otter Tail Power Company, Great River Energy, Lake Region Electric Cooperative, and Midwest EVOLVE (Electric Vehicle Opportunities: Learning, eVents, Experience) are partnering to host an Electric Vehicle Ride & Drive event on Thursday, September 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Minnesota Motor Company. Learn about the performance, availability, and environmental advantages of electric vehicles (EVs).

The Electric Vehicle Ride & Drive is a fun, informational event that offers a hands-on EV experience by:

  • Allowing motorists to test drive a variety of vehicles that are locally available.
  • Providing interaction with EV owners and their vehicles.
  • Educating the public about vehicle charging at home, work, and public stations.
  • Helping consumers determine the best vehicle and charging options for their needs.

To test drive an EV and enjoy a free lunch, visit Minnesota Motor Company, 1108 Pebble Lake Road, Fergus Falls, Minnesota 56537, during the event. “Vehicle test drives are free, and industry experts and local EV owners will be available to share their driving experiences,” said Otter Tail Power Company Senior Market Planning Specialist Brenda Sandahl. “Participants will get a chance to sit behind the wheel of some of the newest EVs on the market, potentially including the Nissan LEAF, Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, and Chevrolet Bolt and Volt.”

This event is part of Midwest EVOLVE—a three-year project in seven Midwestern states to demonstrate EVs at community events, ride and drives, and workplace-charging seminars—through the American Lung Association.
