Keep Air Fresh

Conserve energy with a heat-recovery air exchanger

We understand how important fresh air is for our health and comfort. But during the winter, that fresh air is also cold air.

Heat-recovery air exchangers—or air-to-air heat exchangers—keep your air fresh year-round while conserving energy, giving you the best of both worlds.

Benefits of a heat-recovery air exchanger

Heat-recovery air exchangers:

  • Constantly control the supply of fresh air into your home or business.
  • Reduce excess moisture from showers, whirlpools, and cooking.
  • Reduce the concentration of allergens—pollen, dust, and dander.
  • Reduce air pollutants, such as formaldehyde and smoke, as well as those emitted from paints and cleansers.

How do they work?

Buildings need fresh air. In homes air should ideally change over at least once per hour and even more in offices (two to three times an hour) or schools (five to six times an hour).

Unfortunately, newer high-efficiency homes generally have an air change per hour (ACH) of less than .35, with some as low as .05, leading to poor air quality and associated health issues, such as headaches and allergies.

To prevent this heat-recovery air exchangers use heat from existing indoor air to heat incoming outdoor air, leading to a transfer of air that retains up to 85% of heat while removing nearly all stale air.
