The HOMES and HEAR programs are complementary initiatives from the U.S. Department of Energy established under the Inflation Reduction Act. The HOMES program (Home Efficiency Rebates) supports whole-home energy retrofit projects, while the HEAR program (Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates) provides assistance to low- and moderate-income households. Together, they offer substantial point‑of‑sale rebates on electric appliances and energy‑efficiency upgrades to help reduce utility costs, with implementation carried out by individual states.
