Drafts and thin insulation don’t just make things uncomfortable, they can also cost you money. From gaps in your doors and doorframes to poorly rated insulation in your walls and attic, shoring up your home’s weather stripping and insulation helps keep things comfortable while making your heating and cooling more efficient and cost effective.

Rebate eligibility and details

If you heat with electricity and work with a contractor to upgrade your insulation, you may quality for a rebate of 40% off specific applications up to $2,800.

• Wall insulation: Receive up to $1,000 in rebates.
• Attic insulation: Receive up to $1,000 in rebates.
• Air sealing: Receive up to $800 in rebates.

Combine our rebates with federal tax credits! Save 30% on the cost of materials up to $1,200 per year.

To qualify:

• This program is available to Minnesota residential customers only.
• Your home’s primary heat must be electric.
• You haven't already received an insulation rebate for your home this year.
• Your home isn't new construction.
• Your project meets specific R-factor levels:
  • Homes with attic insulation levels at or below R-20 must bring their total level to R-44.
  • Homes with wall insulation levels at or below R-8 must bring their total level to R-13.
