Responsibilities

Otter Tail Power Company has an opening for a Shop Electrician in Wahpeton, ND.

Qualifications

An associate degree in Electrical or equivalent work-related experience is required. Must have a good electrical knowledge, equipment operation, maintenance and mechanical ability; be familiar with electrical testing equipment and be able to use it to determine electrical equipment malfunctions. Must be able to trace electrical circuits, solve unusual electrical and mechanical problems, and be able to devise procedures, methods and techniques to fit new and different circumstances. Must have basic knowledge of electrical equipment rating and application, be alert, able to use good judgment, and work independently.

Cost Accountant

Responsibilities

Description: At Otter Tail Power Company, our employees support the communities we serve by producing reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible electricity. Everyone has an important role in accomplishing these objectives! In the Cost Accountant role, the following activities are performed:
•    Involvement in the capital process from determination of whether a project is eligible for capitalization through final plant-in-service classification while adhering to accounting guidance
•    Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders to complete construction projects in a timely manner 
•    Account for jointly owned generation plant costs as a part of month-end close responsibilities
•    Assist the Lead Cost Accountant with maintaining our fixed asset system, including system integrations, resolving issues, and implementing enhancements. 
•    Coordinate the workflow of project statuses between our different operating systems

Qualifications

•    To be successful in this role, a degree in accounting, business, or equivalent is required.  
•    An ideal Cost Accountant easily comprehends how information gets to and from different systems.

•    An individual who can evaluate facts and apply judgement in areas where the answer is not always clear will thrive. 
•    Excellent time management skills and an analytical mindset are a must. 
•    A successful candidate will be able to work independently and interact with the team to re-prioritize workload as necessary to meet business needs.
