Mechanical Engineer Intern

Responsibilities

Otter Tail Power Company is currently seeking qualified student applicants to fill one position for Mechanical Engineer Intern at Big Stone Plant from May through August 2018. 

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will provide assistance to Plant Engineering in the following areas:

 Plant systems performance analysis

  • Plant systems modification cost/benefit analysis

  • Sub system Mechanical/Civil design

  • Electronic print updates

Qualifications

Looking for students in the mechanical engineering program with an emphasis in Power Plant engineering. The applicant must have proficient computer skills with various software applications in Microsoft such as Word, Excel, and Access. In addition, the applicant must be proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCad software.

Business Coordinator

Fergus Falls, Minnesots

Responsibilities

Assist in project management activities including billing, budget preparation and updates, progress tracking, and report writing/production. Organize and lead minor aspects of a project, such as, tracking contract requirements and work being completed, vendor damage reconciliation, material inventory, financial reconciliation, and action items. This will include monitoring payment schedules, progress tracking, manage escrow/trust accounts, reconciliation of invoices to contract requirements, and reporting requirements to ensure projects are managed within budget and on schedule. Support other department requirements. Perform budgeting activities to include project and department capital, expense and revenue budgets. Track MISO costs in Interconnection agreements. Track funding of the GIA agreement and notify project team of potential shortfalls. Submit and coordinate capital budget requests for new projects. Gather contract requirements such as lien waivers and partial lien waivers. Establish and maintain invoice and payment schedules.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or equivalent work experience is required. Must have excellent communication and computer skills; be detailed oriented, capable of managing similar tasks across several projects and meet deadlines; understand budgets, forecasts, cash flows, cash commitments, project accounting, billing processes, and administration of construction funds. Requires long term focus of project requirements. Must be able to manage smaller project schedules without supervision.

Service Representative/Lineman

Britton, South Dakota

Qualifications

Applicants must be sufficiently qualified as a Journeyman Lineman and be able to do necessary emergency repair work.  Must have knowledge of electric line construction, maintenance, and repair. Must be able to assume responsibilities for area operations, maintain favorable public relations, and supervise and instruct assistants as necessary. Must have a diploma from an accredited line worker program or have equivalent experience. Must have a valid unrestricted interstate commercial driver’s license. Successful applicant will be expected to reside within 17 miles of permanent headquarters in Britton, SD.

Journeyman or Apprentice Lineman

Qualifications

Must have a diploma from an accredited line worker program and a valid unrestricted interstate commercial driver’s license. Must have knowledge of electric line construction, maintenance and repair. Must be able to work outdoors in any weather, be able to climb, have complete knowledge of safety rules and be capable of getting along well with others.
