Mechanic

Responsibilities

We're hiring a well-qualified Mechanic at Coyote Station, a 427 MW coal-fired electric generating station near Beulah, ND.

Our mechanic positions require a high school education or equivalent. Must have broad mechanical abilities, aptitudes and knowledge, a basic understanding of electrical theory, and basic knowledge of power plant operation. Must be able to: understand the functional purpose, mechanical design and operation of typical plant equipment to determine proper function; plan and perform safe and efficient maintenance; read and comprehend equipment maintenance manuals and repair procedures; weld and operate shop equipment.

Qualifications

Must be able to plan, lay out work, direct and work with other personnel to accomplish duties. Must be physically able to perform all maintenance duties requiring standing, sitting, crawling, climbing, lifting and working in temperature conditions above 100 degrees and below 0 degrees. Lead Lineman

Responsibilities

Successful applicant will supervise, direct and work with the crew to erect and install, maintain or repair overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems and substations; where necessary, frame and erect poles and attach necessary fixtures and equipment; string, sag and splice conductors (wires) and connect transformer and other equipment; trim trees, replace such equipment as broken insulators, split crossarms, cutouts, ties, faulty clamps or braces; and perform similar replacement or repair work as necessary on routine patrol or to clear up storm damage.   • This position is people-centric so excellent communication and leadership skills are incredibly valued and preferred as we seek the next Operations Manager. This includes public speaking skills and adapting communications style to various groups including employees, customers, and city/state/county leaders.
  • To be successful in this position, a four-year degree in Business or Engineering or five-seven years of experience in field customer service operations is required.
  • The Operations Manager wears many hats, so proven success in managing multiple complex projects is a must.
  • Familiarity with the Collective Bargaining Agreement with which we work will enable a candidate to work with employees effectively.

Electrician

Responsibilities

Otter Tail Power Company has an opening for a journeyman or well-qualified apprentice maintenance electrician at its Coyote Station, a 420 MW coal-fired electric generating station near Beulah, ND.

Job duties include installing, testing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing power plant electrical equipment. Plant electrical equipment includes motor controls, motors, generators, breakers, protective relays, voltage regulators, programmable controllers, UPS systems, DC distribution systems, portable and stationary tools and equipment, and AC electrical distribution systems to include switchgear, cabling, transformers, distribution panels, and utilization equipment. Must perform assignments safely, using good judgment, with a sense of responsibility and have the ability to work well with others.

Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of two years technical school, with a working knowledge of electrical apparatus and schematics. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be physically fit, mentally alert and possess good communication skills. Senior Transactions Accountant

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records by overseeing and being the system administrator of the daily accounting operations for accounts payable while also interacting closely with the accounts receivable and cash collection areas of the accounting department. This position requires a highly organized, enthusiastic, team-oriented professional that can foster positive relationships within the organization and external parties.

Key Responsibilities

·        Provide technical and administrative support related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash processes.

·        Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments, proper coding, and compliance with internal controls.

·        Lead month-end close procedures and balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts payable and accounts receivable related accounts and research reconciling items that arise.

·        Serve as Administrator of the accounts payables related computer applications.

·        Assist with the purchase card and fuel credit-card programs and coordinate with employees and vendors.

·        Provide support for internal and external audit and other ad-hoc projects.

·        Support management of financial security risk management instruments.

·        Position works closely with all transactions staff and other accounting department personnel.

·        Communicate with employees throughout the company and with vendors on a regular basis.

Qualifications

Successful candidate will possess:

·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance or equivalent, relevant experience.

·        Requires knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internal Controls and payables and cash related terminology, funds flow, and payment techniques.

·        Excellent knowledge of ERP accounting systems (Oracle Fusion preferred) and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills).

·        A keen understanding of transaction processes, upstream and downstream considerations, and leading practices in these areas to identify and drive process improvements are essential for success.

·        Experience with banking software and knowledge of financial security instruments is a plus

·        Excellent communication and organizational skills and positive attitude are a must.

·        Superior attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity.

·        Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
