In this role, the Outage Management System Operator will be responsible for field dispatch for Otter Tail Power electrical system outages, internal and external communication leveraging the Company Outage Management System (OMS).
• Handle inbound and outbound calls for purposes of distribution system restoration (planned and unplanned outages).
• Initial entry, update, and completion of trouble tickets for emergency outage and non-outage conditions on the distribution system.
• Update outage prediction, which includes combining or splitting outages based on input from field employees or management.
• Coordinate field personnel to respond to outages or other issues on the Company distribution system and when requested by Power System Operators.
• Completing tasks related to customer requests and billing for electric services shall be fulfilled while not actively working planned or unplanned outages.

Applicants must be sufficiently qualified as a Journeyman Lineman or Apprentice Lineman and be able to do necessary emergency repair work. Must have a diploma from an accredited line worker program or equivalent experience. Must have knowledge of electric line construction, maintenance, and repair. Must be able to assume responsibilities for area operations, maintain favorable public relations, and supervise and instruct assistants as necessary. Must have a valid unrestricted interstate commercial driver’s license. Successful applicant will be expected to reside within 25 miles of permanent headquarters in Finley, ND.
Serves as the Company representative in the designated group of towns. Installs, removes, or replaces meters in customer establishments. Installs and maintains service lines, receiving customer complaints and performing necessary repair work to overhead distribution or service facilities.
